Product Description :

• It is an electronic component used to protect circuits from voltage spikes or surges. It works by changing its resistance in response to the voltage applied across it.
• The resistance decreases significantly when the voltage across it exceeds a certain threshold known as the “clamping voltage” or “breakdown voltage.”
• When a voltage spike occurs, the varistor’s resistance drops, allowing it to conduct excess current and thereby protecting the rest of the circuit from high voltage. Once the voltage returns to a normal level, the varistor’s resistance increases back to its high value, preventing current flow.
