An O-ring is a mechanical gasket in the shape of a torus, or a doughnut-like ring. It is commonly used in mechanical and fluid power systems for sealing applications. These rings are made of flexible and compressible materials, such as rubber or elastomers, and they are designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts.
