ABB EF370 Overload Relay

- It is an electrical protection device use to protect motors and other electrical equipment from damage due to overheating.
- It contains a thermal element or bimetallic strip that is sensitive to temperature changes. When current flows through the motor, the thermal element heats up. If the current exceeds the rated value or the motor experiences an overload condition, the temperature of the thermal element rises.
- It is a type of protective relay that monitor the temperature of the motor or equipment and interrupts the power supply if it detects excessive heat.
- It is connected in series with the motor’s power supply. It contains a current sensing element, such as a bimetallic strip, heater coil, or electronic sensor, that detects the current passing through the motor circuit.
